Range Rover Sport 64 plate Hybrid - Battery Change

Hi everyone

If I need to replace the main 12v Battery does it need to be coded to the car? I have been told so but couldn't find any evidence online that it does?

Thanks in advance

Stewart

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Shouldn’t need coding to the car. In 2011 I had to replace (under warranty) the battery in a 2011MY Evoque and with that the Battery Management System required resetting after replacing the battery. You should check if the battery you are replacing is an AGM battery and replace it with the same. In October 2017 I found my car (a 2015MY) had a totally dead battery, LRA came out and jump started the car but didn’t need to do anything else so I assume that BMS has been reprogrammed/ designed since my 2011 espisode. I don’t know if Plug In Hybrids have anything special and would be interested to know as I have a Plug In coming in April. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
