United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Shakespear County Raceway

Just got back from a great day out at Shakespear county raceway (Stratford) 29th NSRA Hot Rod Drags. If your a bit of a petrol head it make for a good day out. £20 for adults and kids under 16 free so bonus for a days entertainment. Santapod nationals are on next week worth a look not bad value either at £20 (The FIA's final are a bit over priced IMOP.)

Anyhow one of the cars made me chuckle Razz , the two sheep in the back must be some of the fastest in the country. Loved to got to of seen under the hood take a look at that big diesel but unfortunately missed him. Off the line was going well until a loud pop (boost pipe?) (turbo?) Never got to see what time he was putting in.

Only diesel on the day and boy that's not a bad thing, the whole track disappears in a smog of diesel particulate Smile

Rumour has it the Raceway will be lost soon, to housing. Will be a shame if it happens.

I fear your right Nige, talking to one of the racers he has the same opinion says it will be a sad loss of another raceway, you can see the bill board out on the main road advertising the homes. Even if the plot is not on the direct area the residential knowbodies will be out in force and would soon put a case in for noise against their 400k homes.

I believe (according to Sister who lives close by) there is also a planning application went through Rushden council for backing, seeking alternate use at Santapod for a housing estate. Banging Head Thud
No official notices have been displayed as yet, early days, this was also noted by staff at said office.
Must be owners of land that start these enquiries.
