Average diesel car prices are apparently down 5.7% between first and third quarters, but that will include pre-Euro 6 models. Hopefully, later RRSs will hold their value better, and also there may be a bit of a rebound in demand once the panic is over. Some people will always want diesel (while it's available) and, if there is reduced availability due to lower production and scrappage, maybe that will help keep prices up. I'd say stick with it, or keep it longer than normal to spread whatever depreciation is coming. After all, it will always be worth srcappage price! |

Value is only an issue if you think you might sell it anytime soon. If you think you've got a keeper then a few % drop because of "diesel panic" is going to be lost in the long term depreciation anyway. Anyone buying these vehicles for the short term is, frankly, throwing money away unless they are the "there's a bill coming, sell it" type. LRs are money pits one way or another.

All cars depreciate, its probably the biggest cost in running a car. Forget about it and enjoy driving the thing |
