Thanks mate - they’ve given me the reg of the car so I could insure it from Monday when I assumed I was collecting, so it’s defo regsisterd. On that subject, they registered the car without my say on what plate it goes on as I assume you usually have a choice?

Secondly they’ve registered the bloody car and found a fault afterwards. Surely they should have checked things over before registering.

Honestly I have a good mind to tell them to shove the car where the sun doesn’t shine, and to order me a new one for March delivery and i’ll Keep this loan car in the interim. The novelty is wearing off fast and so is my Patience to be honest. MY18 RRS Autobiography SDV6 (Awaiting delivery)

Not necessarily registered, that is the reg that they have assigned to it on your behalf - they may be one of the dealerships that has a block of regsitrations. To check try typing your plate into the checker for VED /Insurance/ MOT being valid on one of the DVLA sites. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks mate. The reg didn’t work on the gov link.. but when I gave it to the insurance company to insure they did find it.

I’m going to the dealer tomorrow and I’ll sit with chap face to face.

Does anyone know where I stand if I tell him to do whatever they want with the car, but I’m not having it. Instead they can use my £15k deposit which I placed on this car and get me an identical car for an 18 reg in March assuming there’s a build slot. If they want the loan car back fine otherwise I’ll probably argue the Toss to keep it.

What are your thoughts on that? It’ll be sat there for two weeks next week before I can collect it and that could end up being Friday. I specifically told them if the car was later than first week of Jan I would wait for it to be registered in March instead.

Appreciate your advice before I have a melt down in there tomorrow.

bit of an update.

Basically i spoke to LR yesterday and told them to stick the car where the sun doesn't shine, and that i'd want a new identical car for March,

Just as i said that he told me my car is all done and i can collect it monday lol. Whoops. However, he appreciates the mess around and has confirmed they have no problem keeping this car and selling it (which I'm sure they'll do with no issues) and order me a brand new one for March. They couldn't say when in March, could be the 1st, could be the last day of the month. They wouldn't offer the service pack if i had March car and as i had it wangled in with this one.

Long story short and with lots of thought gone into it, I'm just going to have the car Monday first is last. I've waited 2.5 months for it, i don't want to wait another 2 months for a car. I would love it to be registered on an 18, but lets be honest come September time the novelty will wear off when the 68 comes along anyway!

so... Drum roll for monday please!

Put a private plate on it and buy a set 2018MY taillights then you don’t need to worry about people thinking you haven’t got the latest model if it is that important to you. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Not sure if you've been following this thread or seen the pics of my car on the previous page, but the car I'm picking up monday is a MY18 Autobiography mate. it'll be registered on a 67 plate. So i'll have said tail lights already haha

Safe to say, i think its absolutely fantastic. Dare i say worth the wait even considering the absolute appalling mess around from the dealer, but I'm grateful they lent me a sport autobiography to get me mobile in the mean time.

Just an overview of the spec,

2018 Facelift, Autobiography SDV6, Santorini Black with the following
options:

-Massage front seats (These work lovely with different modes, not quite sure how often they'll be used!)
-Pixel Matrix LED Laser headlights (Amazing headlights, ridiculously bright at night, haven't tested the 'laser' main beam yet)
-Fixed side steps ( Far prefer these to the gimmicky deployable steps which seemed more of a hindrance)
-22'' Style 0912 Gloss black wheels
-Meridian Signature 1700watt system (Sounds sublime, '3D' projection works a treat. Very impressed.
-Auto park function (Works a treat, again not sure how much it will be use but its impressive and very accurate!)
-Surround Camera - Again very handy. annoying its displays as vertical on a horizontal screen, so theres lots of wasted space if that makes sense.
-5 Year service plan
-Fixed pano roof - i liked the sliding roof but the bar across the middle spoilt the look for me a bit!
-Gloss black vents, badges, accents

Points of concern on collection:
- very small 'lump' under leather of steering wheel.
-Leather on front seats seems 'loose' and not tight to the bolsters. Promised both issues will be rectified.

Overall.. very, very pleased with it and looking forward to simply drive and enjoy it. Thanks again to those who posted of your assistance with my never ending queries. MY18 RRS Autobiography SDV6 (Awaiting delivery)
