United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
U0434 code

U0434
Invalid data received from active roll control module
Signal invalid

Had the red light come on with message stop safely etc, took it for diagnostics tonight and he tried to clear codes but this one kept coming back.

Suspension working fine, raises and lowers as it should. No leaks in suspension system/compressor etc. The light comes on quite random, while sitting in traffic, upon start up, while driving fast or slow etc. No pattern to it.

It's up for mot next month and I know it will fail on this warning light most likely.

Anti roll bar leaking a little fluid now and again at rear.

Any help appreciated, 2006 Range Rover sport supercharged.

Got the RR on a diagnostic machine, no faults coming up but the Red Suspension symbol is randomly coming up on the screen. Will this be an automatic MOT Fail and how did any of you guys fix this?

The suspension works fine as do all other areas such as Dynamic controls etc, wiring has all tested out to be okay. The one thing mechanic did say was that it may be Dynamic Roll Module is this something you have heard of?

Most critical safety warning lights/messages fail the MOT I'm afraid. Does it come on from start and when stationary? John

Might be worth getting the steering angle sensor checked / calibrated. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Another really silly thing that causes all sorts of fault errors, have you changed your brake light bulbs, or have one out/faulty?
You must always use genuine LR replacements. Rolling Eyes
This has cured many a fault, although I can give you no logical reason why, or if applicable to this fault. Whistle John

The reason brake bulbs can play havoc is because they are activated by HDC which is hard wired in to the ABS system and Terrain Response etc. So a blown bulb causes a fault in HDC which means TR doesn't work ("Special Programmes Unavailable") and can lead to other systems getting arsy too. Also, because of the CANBUS, strange voltages can cause strange errors and bad bulbs can cause strange voltages. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
