There is a known problem with the differentials around 2007. For some reason it is more often the front that fails - symptoms are a speed related thumping noise on overun from highish speeds and may be evidence of leaks from oil seals.

Ive had 2 tdv8's 1st one was a black 07 kept it about 15 month so it would have been about 4 year old when I px'd it for a 58 plate white tdv8 & the dealer had to spend a fortune on front suspension before they could re sell.To be honest I would NEVER by a car like this without LR warranty.Someone I know bought what they fought was a cheap 08 tdv8 & I said wait till the turbos go,,,,2 weeks later & a big bill from LR to replace turbos,,now it's a expensive RRS.

Thanks guys really appreciate the advice, any suggestions for a tracking device as it's a requirement for my insurance? If the Sport looks and drives well I'm so looking forward to owning it. I will lee you posted of the outcome. Once again many thanks. |

Ask your insurance what they require as they are asking you to have a tracker fitted so they know which ones they accept as if you fit one and they don't recognise then they will only ask you to fit the one they do |

Quite agree with Andy, I have this model fitted too and got a extra 12% discount on premium (and already have 15 years NCD), Plenty of models about, many insurance people now want a tracker fitted, the extra you pay for this model is well worth it IMHO.
