If you are buying from Parks in Inverness, be sure you thoroughly check the car out before parting with your hard earned cash. Again, if you are buying from this dealer you are probably better off getting your car serviced elsewhere.

Dealers in Scotland - there are fewer of them up here covering the whole country than there are in the South East of England so they don't really need to try unfortunately. Poor competition, so they offer crap trade in values and no need to discount when you can sell your meagre allocation very quickly...... I have 8 franchises within 50 miles of home - that covers the entire Central belt and southern highlands, there are two up north and 2 further south. My nearest dealership covers Stirlingshire and most of the Western Isles - a vast area. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

No problem with where abouts you purchase, as long as you are happy and service etc is of a high standard.

I purchased by RRS in December from dealer in Scotland and had it delivered to Surrey this included them taking my Mini as px. Easy to deal with, no trouble negotiating the deal, flawless communication along the way with a few call backs over the last month's from the sales person checking in. Very happy and they even dealt with a cracked rim a few months after. 2018 Telsa MS

The jist of it is in here - http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic45313.html What isn't wrote here is that my brake corrosion was actually highlighted on the 165 point inspection, PV just chose to ignore it - I guess expecting me to come back in and have it pointed out at the service, and have to pay to replace everything... I received a copy of the 165 point inspection after I wrote I didn't believe one could have been carried out with the state of the brake discs. But that is only the highlights, any car can have faults which can usually be fixed. This dealers faults go back to right after having received the car when I tried calling and emailing the salesman as the wheel vibration started, the protection coating was of a bad standard (previously agree'd it would only be applied after a full correction detail, and was just applied on top of all the age related swirls), someone had 'removed' the Autobiography mats worth £330 which were in the pictures etc. so later agreed they should be included - finally replaced with the standard premium cheaper set (I couldn't be bothered arguing more) and all through the repair after LR Assist took the car to them then I had to continuously prompt them for updates or replies to my emails. The salesman just did not ever reply to me, so I managed to get his supervisor who actually was much more helpful and sounded like he agreed with my opinion on how I was being treated - he couldn't not agree as I had non-replied to emails. It wasn't just the salesman either, the service dept. were as bad. The group manager got things done - I was forwarded to him as I guess they might have felt my email was quite strong as I mentioned them selling an unroadworthy car, and some other stuff. I feel my RRS is still a good car, any car can have brake issue's after having sat for so long before sale, so I'm not bothered about that side of things, I was just disgusted at the dealer poor level of service after the sale. The Approved LR Warranty is definately good, but when buying at a distance then there are some issue's that you can only bring up with the dealer purchased from, like the issue's I had, and my being at a distance definately added hassle. While I will not darken their doorstep again, even to the point of refusing their free service when it came due, I guess as long as you are aware they are potentially dodgy and check everything very thoroughly before handing over your money then the sale will hopefully be better for you. I really do not trust them one little bit from sale to service/repair. If the salesman is Christopher M then I suggest you ask for someone else (there is/was 2 - this one goes by Christopher whereas the other is Chris) Good luck 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine 14MY Range Rover Evoque Dynamic SD4 Black Pack - wife's 99MY Defender 90 TD5, Soft Top Conversion - my toy, and bairns favourite |
