what options for retro fit Towbar

Hi,
looked at a nice Corris with Black interior car today but it has no Towbar Sad

not much good for towing our caravan and dealer fit a electric deploy one over £2k Shocked Shocked

so that car has been ruled out

Does any one know of other options and round figure costs to fit them Question

Have seen advert details for one car as "multi height removable towbar" any one got this option or had it fitted at a later date

Thumbs Up

If you go to the LR website and configure a new RRS you eventually get to the accessories section and can see the options there - fixed height/multi height or deployable. Retro fitting the deployable one is quite a lot of work for the dealer hence it is best as a factory fitted at newbuild for £950 as opposed to the £2000 for the dealer to do it, also I don't know if the dealer fit includes the software change for the reversing cam to show the yellow line that you use to aim at the draw of the trailer when backing up or the software upgrade for the Tow Assist option. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Why only price a deployable tow bar? A normal tow bar would be a lot cheaper.

Hi,
thanks, No mention of the "tow assist" would hope that any fitment includes any software needed, but I was only thinking about the park sensors.

Donny, yes I am looking at a removable type, just a bit shocked at the deploy type and a removable one would suit me better anyway Thumbs Up

salesman never mention dealer fit of any other type than deploy

You have to go aftermarket for a removable one on L494 there isn't an option to have an LR one - L494 doesn't have the heavy
Rear Chassis arrangement like the L320 had, it's a different arrangement behind the rear bumper. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

me again,
the land rover Multi height bar is still £860 if ordered as an option when new, so not sure what that will be retro fitted?

swmbo suggested I spec'd a car the same level as we have now, bad idea, adds £12k Laughing

Hi,
bit of update regarding the towbar,

the Landrover fixed/multi height one can be retro fitted and has a removable towball mount that then leaves a square receiver point ISTR that its like the older type FFRR the beam they have to bolt in stays in place.
a different rear cover panel is needed and you can see the square but the bar can be removed.

Have agreed a price of £750 fitted if I go ahead with their car

Thumbs Up

My wife's disco 4 just needed the electrics fitting and and the detachable towbar itself. Really off that it's such a faff with the RRS and FFRR, I wonder why.
