coolant hose blow off

hi, has anyone had the large diameter hose (PHC503200) that goes from top of radiator to engine block blow off.
happened to me twice now,

I'm thinking its the hose slipping out between the clip and the hose stub pipe over time.
the clip is a pig to fit as there is no room to compress the clip, might be better with a jubilee clip.

Would have fitted a new one yesterday but after ringing stratstone landrover and being told they had a hose in stock, it turned out that after driving there that they didn't have one in stock.

Why is dealer coolant 40 quid a litre, is there a compatible alternative for a full drain and refill.

If the hose keeps blowing off then it would suggest that the water pressure is too high (unless with the age of the vehicle the hose has stretched and the clip has weakened) so could mean that your radiator has blocked paths.

The coolant itself is just OAT, you don't need the dealer expensive stuff.
