SDV8 Road Test

Just came across this SDV8 review from April.

Seems to pretty much nail my view of the car.

It may not be the newest luxury SUV on the market, but there are few that offer the effortless performance and outright presence that the Range Rover Sport SDV8 does. Another thought arose when I handed back the keys: “It might be time to ask for that pay rise, because I really want one of these…” 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV8 HSE Dynamic (Indus Silver/Santorini Black Pano Roof, Ebony/Cirrus leather, custom grey Style 508 alloys)

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Interesting that despite the favourable write up for the SDv8 they still rated the SDv6 HSE Dynamic more highly..........

Good report and some great photos. I really like that paint colour also.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

The SDV6 scores more highly for space and comfort - they're the same in this regard in reality though. The SDV8 gets panned for the infotainment although, again, they're the same in each model.

The SDV8 does better in performance/economy and ride/handling.

The reviews are a year apart so as the market has moved on in infotainment etc., so the later review marks the SDV8 down in this area.

I bet if you put them head to head in a review, the SDV8 would just win it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Plus the model they tested wasn't an Autobiography, which it would be if purchased in the UK.
