The best thing for these cars is to find a knowledgeable and reliable LR indie, they are complex cars and trying to save money by going to a general garage with no specialist Land Rover knowledge or equipment can end up being hugely expensive as often they have no knowledge of the foibles of the marque. E.G. I had a plumber working at the house a couple of years back who had bought a Discovery3 from his local garage that had huge miles and it transpired a heap of problems. The garage had spent weeks trying to replace timing belts and kept telling him it was impossible as there was no room at the back of the engine................ my reply was "ask them if they have lifted the body off, it is designed to come off in 30 minutes and then you have proper access to all the vitals" I even found a photo in my albums of a D3 with the body on a hydraulic ramp over the
