Sold The RRS

Dear All,

I finally succumbed, the engine issues and general build quality was the final straw. I must say that Barretts in Ashford have been excellent by the way.

So I P/x'd the car for a 911 C4S, quite the change!

However, its eye opening how different the service is from the dealerships compared to that of LR (not to mention the build quality).

I had a small issue with the lighter at the back not quite lighting correctly, I live in Kent but bought the car in Reading. I advised the dealership and they sent a low loader to collect the car and dropped off a Panamera 4S in its stead for the weekend. They'd already ordered the parts in advance from Germany and there was no quibble.

Anyhow, some pics of the 911 if anyone is interested to see it.....

PS, its an amazing car but not so good off road Wink

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

Nice motor,,when I decide to sell my RRS AB I don't think ill be getting another sport,im going to go with something that hold its money slightly better,,i have a focus RS on order but that is only to sell straight out at a profit or I might just keep it & sell the sport as the RS will hold its money a lot better,,im giving around 33k for the rs & probably run it 5 year & get 30k back for it.Even the old MK2 rs's that were 27-28k in 2010 at fetching around 23-25k for a immaculate low mile one.

Thanks Andy, the residuals on the 911 are very good but thats not the reason I bought it *cough, mid life crisis?*

I got probs an ok price on the RRS 2014.5 AB SC 5.0 38k miles and they got it for £47k....meh, its at auction now.

T'was time to move on, I loved the RRS...but it was time for change.

My 2.5yr old son's car seat fits perfectly in the back and he calls it "Daddy's Racing Car" which makes me happy Smile 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

I'm sure it's a very nice Beetle..... Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4

Lovely looking car Thumbs Up

I'm sure seeing good build quality would've felt great in comparison to LR's incompetence Laughing Would be interesting to see how long lasting the good experience is though. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Are you an antiques dealer 😂😂

Kidding, but yes it's a lovely beetle. Very fast and capable car.

I hope the experience continues to be good with dealers, if not, let's be honest JLR set the bar pretty low 😂

I thought I'd miss the RRS, I'm not bashing it, prior to this, it was the best car I'd owned and it was also a very capable car, but in a different way. I no longer need the space, clearance or off road capability so to be honest it was a no brainer. 2014.5 Mariana Black 5.0 Supercharged V8 Autobiography

Fantastic looking car. Least it wont fall apart any time soon, and you can be sure the dealer can fix it in the unlikely event that something does go wrong! Laughing Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

As a Lover of the VW brand the Porsche has always been a favorite of mine when considering a car. I made a choice between the Macan and Audi SQ5 and decided the SQ was a better car for my wife based on bang for the buck at the time. I like German engineering , they also make getting inside the car electric a lot easier than RR do. As a multi purpose vehicle the RRS is good, as a car it leaves a lot to be desired. I purchased mine to go bush when I want to if you buy one just for the brand I think there are a lot better choices to be made, such as a 911. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
