Can't help with the warranty issue but noticed my local Indy has a 2014 3.0l in for a new engine this week, are LR engines made of cheese ? I've owned lots of different brands over the years and never heard of so many catastrophic failures in cars that are relatively young. Nanocom Evo |

Even dealers are saying their is a problem with the crank snapping so how can they say its not covered under warranty..Plus anyone reading these comments are NOT going to buy one if its not covered.Im just glad ive gone forpetrol this time.

Its got nothing to do with the old warranty, as previously said, as it was sold by LR approved car it would have come with a full 2 year warranty package in its own right and he would be covered by that. It’s nothing to do with you, just the dealership and LR to sort out, you sold it /Part X and your part stops there. They should just honour warranty either new, or the old one which they don’t need you to sign over, absolute rubbish! it’s up to the new customer/dealer, that’s what I have always done. Confused as to why you are being involved, for as explained. John

I'm just trying to help the guy out who bought it from me Johnski,,even LR warranty told me on tues that the warranty belongs to the car & it doesn't run out till next july,,LR just wanted to confirm I sold the vehicle private.Like you say it should just get fixed,it is a ongoing problem with cranks snapping so even without a LR warranty at 34k they shouldn't be having problems like this,,i get Peugeots in my place for mot with 200k plus mileage that don't have priblems like LR do,,thats if the sport will last that sort of mileage which I doubt.

What concerns me is that the crankshaft snapped on a my14. I thought they'd fixed that on the 2012 Merc C220 estate Sport AMG

LR warranty even admitted their is a problem with the cranks snapping on the early L494’s,,,so if their is a problem why aren’t they fixing the car,,like Johnski says,,they know it still has warranty so this car should have been fixed without any Fone calls asking if I sold it to dealer or private,,customer gave good money for the car because it still had LR warranty till July next year.
