The TT got a bit of an unjust reputation as a hairdressers car to start with!
By the time they got round to this 'end of production' put together in the same shop that the RS & R8s are, it was a nice bit of kit. With a little time and effort they can be turned into a rather exciting little gem.
She's still a work in progress, but we're enjoying each other's company. Wink Daily... Audi TT 240 qS, tasteful mods.

I like my Audis. Much as I like my Discovery, the Audi RS2 I ran for 5 years is still my car of a lifetime and the only car I wish I'd been able to keep.

I nearly bought a TT Sport a few years ago - the lack of a rear parcel shelf stopped me at the time given I was doing a field-based job. There were some solutions but ...

The SO has had a 52 plate S3 from new. She comes out on high days and holidays. The 1.8 T engine is a peach in 225 bhp trim - and most be even better with 240 bhp.

The Mark 1 TT remains a design icon.

What are your plans for the car?

Indeed, the RS2 was a stunning piece of kit! That 5 pot engine played a lovely tune!
The lack of rear seats and parcel shelf have never been an issue really, I invested in a set of model specific rear and rear quarter blinds, just to keep prying eyes at bay.
Just a few little mods so far, Milltek cat' back (resonated) so it sounds fruity, yet not overpowering. Pipercross air filter and modded the air box to supply a cold feed. De-baffled charge boost pipe. 20mm rear, 15mm front hub centric wheel spacers. Then just a few cosmetic bits n bobs, stainless fasteners for all under bonnet covers, illuminated gear lever surround, footwell lights to match dash & gearlever, modified Seat Leon Cupra front splitter and all round inside & out LED bulbs to give it a little more visibility.
I had the 4 wheel alignment set up by a local 4x4 race workshop, made a whole world of difference.
Renewed both front road springs a while back (standard height) got the rears in the workshop to do this week.
After that it'll be the front top mounts as they are known to be an issue.
Kept all original parts so I can always put her back to standard if needed.
Always use genuine VAG service parts and fluids, do all the work myself unless it's alignment or tyre fitting.
She's just clicked over 60,000 on an '06 plate, number 600 of the very limited 800 RHD sold in UK.
No plans to part company yet but I've looked at all sorts for when the time comes...

I think the mk1 TT has aged really well, I wasn't a fan at all when they were released, but now I think they look great. I'll take a BAM in black please Smile

You probably won't believe me (most people don't until they've tried) but the seats are very comfortable, even on long journeys! They're very supportive and even have a positional lumbar support cushion behind the seat padding!
They're quite an upright position but direct replacement side brackets, with various adjustment holes, are an option.
As for the BAM engine... It really is a peach! It's a rock solid base with huge potential for all manner of power gains. Daily... Audi TT 240 qS, tasteful mods.
