I have a facelift MY2010 when interior had major revision, and your description sounds exactly like the mats fitted to mine.

For 2005 -2009 cars the OEM mats are a difference to design to the 2010-2013 cars. There was a safety recall on the original 2010 mats as it was found they could creep forwards and prevent the brake pedal travelling to the bumpstop in an emergency. There is a stickied message about it. This means that you cannot use pre 2010 mats in a post 2010 car. When buying mats from Land Rover after market suppliers (Bearmach/ Simmonites et al) you have to specify the model year.
