Having just had a new alternator fitted as the old one wasn't charging, if one of the repairers out there can use the old one to recon or bung a reg kit in, etc. Here it is.

In case this helps anyone - it is the series of numbers starting with 10 42 ..... etc. that identifies the alternator exactly.

Unfortunately Denso don't supply spares for the higher output unit on the TDV8 but may do for the more widely used TDV6 version?

Partial dismantling clearly showed that it was just one of the diodes on mine that had blown and everything else looked fine. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
