Strange question, I've had three RRS now an non of the cigarette lighter sockets have worked BUT all 3 have had a one penny piece in them that I removed ? Is there a reason they have been there? If I put one back in will they work ? Very coincidental that all three RRS had one ?

Quite strange that you found 3 with pennies People store loose change close to it I guess and penny is perhaps the only coin size that fits a standard socket.

I bought a used Mini Cooper 4 years ago that came with a penny in the socket. I found the fuse had blown, most probably by the penny shorting the socket terminals. Removed the penny, replaced the fuse and the socket started to work. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

If there is a penny in there its most likely its blown the fuse. I went to look at one before getting mine and there was one in there too I think its just carelessness with the loose change!

I did exactly the same with my previous RRS! A penny fused out the fag lighter!
