MY2011 Towbar Queries

I want to hook up a bike rack to my MY2011 RRS, for carting around my road bike on occasions I wish to go further afield.

After looking at various options it seems that tow-bar mounted is the sane way to go, however I currently have no tow bar. What are the questions I should be asking to work out what I need to do to sort this out?

Is it just a case of buying a detachable bar and it'll definitely fit, or do I need to check mounting points? How do I check if electrics are in place, and are they needed?

I'm happy to fit it myself as I assume it's not overly tricky, but my knowledge about tow bars is basically absolutely zero, so don't assume I know the obvious stuff!

Just a case of buying a towball off ebay.

Electrics and unlikely to be fitted. (remove the middle part of the bumper to see if you have sockets)
Depending on the size of the bike rack hopefully you will not require them as it can get expensive.

If required you could go for a cheap option, as its only a bike rack

Hi Lunar this exactly what I did when I had my 2013 RRS, I now have a RRS2 which has a electrically deployable tow bar so I have one going if your interested at £150 including postage.
