I remember seeing some comments on this forum about this. Think the rivets give up. Some have re-riveted IIRC Robin

I guess so. Sorry don't know for certain. However if you can use a bolt but still keep it looking ok then that would have my vote. Robin

Just had the same thing on mine, the aluminium rivets corrode with age. I removed the complete sidestep to repair it and drilled out all the rivets. I used some 1/2" self tappers and large head washers to re- fasten the strip, you will need to clamp it in place as it does spring out when the rivets are drilled out. Much easier taking the whole step off to repair as you can turn it upside down to work on it. 2010 RRS, TDV8

happend to me a little while ago, i just removed the step and riveted it back in place |

Yep, also happened to both mine, I removed them cleaned up as best I could the drilled outbthe old rivet and re riveted it back on. Should last until I sell up.lol |
