Very good question and there may be a connection there... It has been raining non stop for the past few days to the point where there is massive flooding all over Ontario. Ottawa hasn't been hit too hard but I'm rambling. Needless to say I see how you might be thinking that all this moisture is creating an onslaught of electrical issues.

Might've been as simple as a re-calibration haha |

Suspension on the bump stops is what happens when the suspension thinks it's got a cross articulation error. Calibration sorts that - been there, done that. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Bah!!! You think???? Dude it's a Range Rover lol, this is just a band-aid. At the least, it will buy me time. ![]() In the meantime I am now getting some weird smell coming form the rear left area.... Yesterday morning while it was limping on the bump stops I was on the highway jumping around at around 100KPH so I'm wondering if I may have blown a seal somewhere. If I remember correctly, the air bag provides the cushioning while the internal pneumatic shock does the rest.... Just a guess. Is it possible the smell (smells a little like burnt brake pads) is coming from the pneumatic half of the strut? I checked the rear discs and they are fine. |

The air suspension on the RRS works the same as a MacPherson Strut, theres a hydraulic damper in the centre with the air bag replacing the coil spring. So I wouldn't have thought the smell would be coming from the suspension. I'm not sure what size wheel/tyres you're running but when on the bump stops they could've been fouling on the body somewhere. The other possibility is that the geometry is all wrong when dropped that low, so you will have been scrubbing your tyres so it could be that. |

You know what? I have to say these trucks are pretty poorly designed underneath. a few days ago I had a look underneath and the amount of exposed wires is incredible..... All that's required is a simple plastic cover or cowling to cover it all up and theses parts would last so much longer. It really is astounding how such a prestigious and high priced vehicle lacks this simple forethought.

I thought that too Socast but the tires showed no sign of gouging or damage due to contact with the well. I'm running stock rims on 274x45 R20 so that's not too bad. Admittedly, the tires were pretty close to the wheel well but this morning all was normal so that smell??? No clue where it could be coming from. |
