Happily minding my own business driving along the A40 in Wales on Monday, road was empty, flat, open and it was a 40mph limit in which I was doing about 35. Oncoming van driver all of a sudden gives me a thumbs up and a smile as we passed.

Never seen him before in my life, didn't recognise the van - anyone here in mufti maybe? Perhaps he liked the front of the car?

Then a few miles further on, this time on a B road through a small village with 30mph limit, again doing about 20/25 and I got a thumbs up from an oncoming cyclist (elder gent). It wasn't as if I was over his side of the road or going out of my way to give him space (I wasn't, the road was wide enough and I was on my side of the dashes).

Totally strange
