Range Rover Sport 2009 V8 3.6 Starter Motor Removal?

Hi All just joined and wondered if anyone here could help me with info on removing the starter motor on my RRS 2009 3.6V8. I have looked under and removed the metal tray/panel but it really looks difficult.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi unbolting it from the car although fiddly was the easy part, getting it out was the battle, once all the heat shields are out of the way the bolts that hold the starter in go through from the gearbox end so are fairly straightforward the wiring is fiddly but pretty straightforward but I had to remove the fuel cooler pipes and the 2 hydraulic pipes the my front anti roll bar to get it out and even then it was still a challenge. Everything was done from underneath so if no lift available then a decent set of ramps will help.
Good luck with it Thumbs Up Clickadeeclick

Also if you haven't bought one yet it pays to shop around, I told my usual supplier I wanted oem which is a Denso iirc and when it arrived it was a recon so I sent it back and asked them again for oem they called me a couple of hours later and to there surprise a brand new oem was actually £10 cheaper than the refurb and I got to keep my old unit and obviously no £100 surcharge,
Fwiw I think Island 4x4 are doing oem for only slightly more than I paid but I can't comment on the surcharge side of things Thumbs Up Clickadeeclick
