Maybe if they had more realistic prices third-party companies may have less incentive to create their own options? |

You mean that they should sell cars at a lower profit margins, so they can spend less money on design, innovation and future models?

No mention of selling cars at lower profit margins. From my understanding this is talking about bolt on parts, accessories and performance tuning? 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Again, parts specified as accessories are fully tested to the same standards as original equipment, not sourced from Chinese or Taiwan back Street pattern makers. Roof racks, actually Thule and fully tested for example. Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4 |

Im fairly sure Gerry is never going to put third party tuners out of business by claiming that their parts and accessories are tested to OE standards.

So one rip off merchant wants to spoil the business for the other rip off merchants? In the old days of Austin/Rover, BMW and Ford owning Land Rover they had a division called Autobiography that did all the interior and paint stuff that SVO now does, it didn't do power upgrades and neither does SVO. So................. how long before SVO becomes just another model name like Autobiography? There used to be another SVO as well but they built the bullet proof/amoured Land Rovers and also the special Defenders for the Utility companies, not luxury sports cars so I suppose that with Defender dead the SVO had to have another job to do. TBH there will always be companies like Overfinch and Kahn and the likes as long as there are people who want their car to be a bit different from the product produced by the manufacturer regardless of the price. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

A fire extinguisher for well over 100 can not be justified. The same item can be bought on the high street for 20. That's just taking the . The RRS1 underbody protection plate is 700. For a piece of aluminium plate. Sorry, no way that is justified. I remember when LR suddenly put up the price of parts a few years ago. Overnight items like alternators were having 100+ added to them. Again taking of the highest order. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

I can see a potential problem, what would happen if JLR claimed that a certain unapproved/non homologated body mod had an effect on the crash worthiness of the vehicle. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
