Doubt that you will get anything other than opinion and "facts" that cannot be substantiated for a while yet. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Having seen what purports to be the face-lifted version in spy shots on here, it looks more like an Evoque-style face-lift than a major one. Until RRS3 arrives, I would have thought that tooling costs would preclude them doing too much. By the same token, it's hard to see them squeezing all the new Velar technology into the existing basic interior without altering a lot of metalwork. Having no knowledge on the subject, so just guessing, I'd expect a screen more like the new Disco, with some of the new software from the Velar incorporated. (Why would then need a tilting screen, for example, unless they totally re-model the interior, and why would they do that inside the existing basic exterior rather than wait until RRS3?) If they weren't spy shots of the face-lifted car, however...... |

There won't even be rumours about a MY18 until September 2017 and substantiated fact will not be available until around November of 2017. So if you want a new car now, get one and if you don't, wait. However, you can dance around from foot to foot and miss some good opportunities if you are not careful.

Nice one Old Jock. I've made some further enquiries today and been told the updated features will be revealed in July, with cars available for delivery in November, a time-scale that I can live with. Nothing confirmed but a strong hint that the infotainment and control features in the Velar will be carried over into the RRS 18. |

Having just updated the infotainment in the 2017MY I don't think you will see anything from the Velar as yet. The Velar is a TATA developed model, the FFRR, Evoque and RRS are Ford derived. My guesswork deduces the two won't mix without new wire looms etc. So agree Evoque facelift and 2017MY interior. New grilles and bumpers, same old same old. The RRS has only been out a couple of years. You can see where the FFRR/RRS are going to head....anyway we shall wait and see come July... Gone:

The RRS2 has only been out since 2013 & the RRS1 ran from 2005 to 2013 so I wouldn't expect the RRS3 to be out till at least 2020-21.

Apart from a different operating system using two touch screens, what actual new technology has the Velar got? |

I suspect it might even have the same operating system. It's perhaps just the User Interface that will change ie more touchscreen rather than keyboard. Unless I've missed it in all the hype. Robert |
