Hi,

I've got a Sept 2016 RRS HSE (still on the older infotainment system - so HDD based Nav, but no Incontrol App and doesn't look like the discovery sport's one with the four nice graphics on the home screen).

Annoyingly about 2 months after I got the car, they changed the road layout for the M6/M1 junction in November 2016(you can no longer go north bound on the M1 if coming from the M6). So now the nav keeps wanting to route that way but you can't go there! - not to mention how it gets really confused since it wants to go via a load of roundabouts which no longer exist if you go any other direction (east or south).

So, currently I'm using a TomTom which works much better to be honest.

Anyway, seeing as I have the built in sat nav, it would be nice if it were updated to have the correct road layout! - Does anyone know the earliest map revision which they KNOW for sure has the new layout - I don't want to splash out for example on a 2017 map only to find it still doesn't contain the update! (unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anywhere you can preview online what road layouts are contained in an map pack).

To be fair, I do ignore the nav instructions around that area, however it is a bit annoying! - though I have lived with it for about 6 months now so it's not the end of the world.

I know what you mean.

I used to use that junction regularly but haven't for some years. So, is the link to the A14 a direct one now, cutting out all those silly roundabouts?

Before
from M6E you could go M1N (via roundabouts), A14E (via roundabouts), M1S
from M1S you could go M1S, A14E, M6W (via roundabouts)
from A14W you could go M1N (via roundabouts), M6W (via aroundabouts)

Now
From M6E you can now directly go A14E, M1S - no longer M1N
from M1S you can now directly go A14E, M1S - no longer M6W
from A14W, can go directly M6W or M1N

Very often, you see people using old sat navs making dangerous turn offs at the last minute (or not), and then getting very confused...

Overall it's a better junction but such a substantial change and the nav still tries to sometimes take you down the route which you can no longer go!

Wow, 2.5 hours! - sounds like you need to already know how to get to ullapool since the satnav presumably won't be of any use at the time. Keep us posted!
