Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black
Year 7 of Ownership

I started year 7 of ownership this January for my 2010 TDV8. Just turned over 35,000km.

The car goes back to the dealer next week to have the airconditioning system looked at. They replaced the compressor for thge 4th time just before Christmas. The noise it made with the 4 previous compressors has not returned (yet) but now the system does not work properly. It can sometimes take 1/2 hour for really cold air to come out of the vents and it happens like someone just flicks a switch. On cooler days it struggles to blow cold air and the air flow changes significantly every few minutes on manual control.

The drive train shunt is as bad as every. I haven't learnt to live with it, just accepted its too hard to fix.

I got the driver seat leather and foam replaced under warranty. They have allowed me to fit it myself. All was going well until I removed the foam from its factory box to find the foam was ripped at both front seam edges. It looks like a design fault and the foam gets ripped when removed from the moulding process. Now what glue to use?

The battery needs charging once a week still to keep it fully charged. I've had it checked and no fault can be found either with the battery or charging system. Another one that just too hard to fix.

Use a CTEK charger if you don't have one.

CTEK Charger

I use one all the time. I still need to connect the battery once a week.

3000 miles a year? No wonder it's unhappy! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Year 7 of Ownership

I got my car back today. The gas was low in the AC system, needed 150g which seems a lot when the total is 650g.

They gave me a new MY 2017 Evoque as a loan car (320km on the clock). What a pile of !.

It has the worst transmission shunts that I have ever experienced (make my problem look like a non event). The service manager said "yes its not one of Landrovers best models"

In addition it has no throttle feel (lots of cotton wool), severe pitch side to side, can't see out of (thats normal now), harsh suspension for no reason, no room, really crap ergonomics and is really expensive to buy

My MY 2010 RRS is light years ahead in every department.

Also they replaced my black wheel weights with silver ones when they rotated the wheels - silver wheel weights dont look good on black rims.
