Performance air filters

Mid week there was a discussion on here regarding upgrading brakes to ceramic which i will do now after i get back from travelling up to Scotland, just felt I should do this on my return just incase I encounter any issues (brakes) heading up there in a few days!

So in the meantime I have purchased these http://www.knfilters.co.uk/air_filter/2014...sport/5.0l

Should be interesting if i feel any difference in performance, even more interesting to see if MPG make any gains? Not that MPG is a factor but more out of interest, I will publish my findings end of the week when I have 600 miles under the new filters belt. MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

In my experience when trying to release (so-called) 'gains' from air-filters its often necessary for some type of engine / ECU re-map to get the most from them. You might feel something but I would be surprised.

Quite impressed with the 'million mile' warranty on them though. SVR with a few bits from Urban and Glohh

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Firenze Red

The oil in K&N filter will get onto airflow sensors and make them give incorrect values...

There are topics on here about it, search them out and do not fit the filter! 5.0 Ltr Superchrged RRS2, Chile Red, Sideways out of junctions!

I believe JE Engineering do uprated airfilters. Dont think they are K&N but another brand of performance filter. Having been tuning Land Rovers for a very long time i would have thought they could advise you what to use Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Generally, filters that flow more air flow more dust. Your purchase will not improve performance and will decrease engine life. There is a very good research site that tests all these filters, K & N do not rate well.

Thanks chaps for all the advice and especially the links to those case studies, it looks like the K&N filter really doesn't measure up to its claim according to the results found. Oh well a quick phone call Monday to get the order cancelled and that's that!

Again thanks for the help guys Thumbs Up MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver
