Dimming Exterior Mirrors?

Would a 2006 S/C have dimming exterior mirrors or were they not fitted to earlier Sports?

I only ask as the manual refers to dimming mirrors instead of just a dimming mirror but the exterior mirrors don't seem to dim and the manual doesn't give any details.

Cheers

Hi SAS32,
In the user Manual for the 2006 Sport very kindly posted on this site it says this about the rear view mirror;
"Automatic dimming
Some rear view mirrors are fitted with a feature
that will automatically darken to counteract
glare from the headlamps of a following vehicle.
This feature is temporarily switched off while
reverse gear is selected."
There is no mention of "automatic dimming" side mirrors, only "automatic dipping" when reverse is selected.
My 2005 SC doesn't have automatic dimming side mirrors but now you've got me thinking as I've never noticed glare but wasn't looking for it either!
Hope that helps..... a bit Question

Edit; Thanks to Andy K who posted this link on the stolen spare wheel topic http://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/Land%20Rover...call/81058
it's very useful. If you enter your VIN it will tell you your build sheet and when I did mine it mentioned cromatic rear view mirror but only heated and foldable side mirrors. Hope thats a bit more helpful! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Scrumpy, it looks like you're right, which is a shame as it's a feature I've always liked in past cars I've owned. Bit of an omission given the relatively high standard specification.

I guess they would've very expensive given the glass size.

Personally don't like them on the passenger side. You can't see cyclists.

I had them

On my previous A4 and they were a godsend but the passenger side stopped working on the defrost option, Audi wanted £253 for a replacement glass so god knows what RR would want.

Needless to say I just put up with a lack of the option till I sold Wink Wink
