tdv6 battery change

following my alternator disaster i have been persevering with the old battery but i suspect its not that good Sad

We have a bmw glass matt battery from a 320d which is 900ah and 900 cold cranking amps and is sat in the garage at 12.7 volts.

does anyone know if these stop start batterys would be a problem on a conventional engine from a charging perspective? Rolling Eyes

I believe some people have been fitting AGM batteries to the older cars

I've fitted an agm battery, on the advice from here. Neither my battery place or local indy fit them unless the vehicle has stop start, but according to this site, Land Rover now spec them for all models. I've certainly not had any issues so far, but it's only been a few weeks.

Mine is a MY08 TDV8, so not identical. You could always call LR and ask what they recommend, i spoke to the parts guy at my local dealer and they were surprisingly hepfull.

If you change the battery, you need to be careful because there are electrical connections and an ECU at the back of the battery box, against the bulkhead. I got mine changed by my local tyre place, £180 fitted.
