Have you noticed this only since removing it? I haven't had to remove mine yet and don't have any issues with it. It's certainly more sturdy than the Freelander retractable cover.... that flies about all over the place.

Amazingly, my Dad thinks the design is much better on the sport than the fixed/hard version found in all his Range Rovers..... he finds it a pain to remove/install each time he puts the dogs in. He would sooner have this type but of a better quality.

I agree, it's better than the 'bigger' range rover but it's still not anywhere as good as in other european touring models such as the BMW 3, 5 series - these are 1) mounted at the same height and directly attached to the rear bench AND also have a vertical net for preventing cargo to fall forward. - Robert

Again ,I would agree with that. Even the Audi Avants have a retractable cargo net that is similar in design to the big RR ie. pulls up towards roof. This is great for keeping dogs noses from peering into passenger quarters.

Forgot to post that I had it replaced by the dealer for the one in their demo SC. The difference was astonishing, mine was obviously bollxed. I now have one that works and pulls strongly as it should do.
