Black Edition?

I'm trying to find a 12-13 year autobiography but because of wanting to buy from a main dealer down to the used approved warranty they are all telling me that it's a rare car to find and have told me that a Black Edition is the same spec with a few other bits as it was a run out model but you don't get the HST bodykit.

Anyone know much about a Black Edition that can confirm this and maybe give a few more details on them.

BE which came out in 2013 was the run out model and had extras over, say, 2012 plain HSE but it was still missing quite a few features that AB had. For example BE had timed (but not remote) climate as standard but not the heated steering wheel. It had extended leather but not two-tone seats. BE didn't have adaptive cruise either. The standard audio system may also have been superior in AB (although BE had a decent system as well). BE did have TV tuner and hybrid/dual view screen as standard though.

This list is not exhaustive and just a quick attempt. The difference between BE and AB was more than just a bodykit. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

BE was the nicest LR I ever owned and IMHO pretty good value compared to it's replacement Mr. Green

If I was in the market for a RRS - an approved used BE would be tempting Thumbs Up

Hi,

I had a Baltic Blue HSE Black Edition from March 2013-2016.

I ordered it with adaptive cruise, adaptive xenons & tow pack. I fitted Remote Park Heat myself.

You could order them with the AB body kit but I didn't.

If I had to go back to an RRS 1 from my RRS2 AB , I'd look for one too as I reckon they were/are good VfM for the spec you get.

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Black edition owner here and very good value for money I would say, sunroof never bothered me neither did rear screens as the kids are all about iPads these days so would of been wasted anyway. I retro-fitted remote park heat and heated steering wheel myself but it wasn't a deal breaker for me as the rest of the car was very clean and honest.

In terms of the body kit it wasn't for me as I like to use mine offroad but it was an option on them I believe so there maybe a few black editions with it fitted Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

I have looked at a Causeway Grey with ivory leather Black Edition today 06/13 registered which has a heated steering wheel at a LR main dealer and apart from the lack of HST body styling which I would have got with a Autobiography the car had everything I could of wanted so took it for a test drive and it was like driving a brand new car so I bought it and pick it up next weekend Very Happy
I also looked at a compleat dog of a Autobiography at a independent car sales place which was that bad I turned and walked away in under 5 minutes.

Very happy with my purchase and not bothered about the lack of body kit now as I can't fault the rest of the car.

Whatever you paid for it, it's got to be worth it if the car has a heated steering wheel!!! The MUST HAVE accessory, couldn't live without it now!!!

Enjoy your new vehicle when it is ready for collection.

Never had a heated steering wheel so wouldn't of missed it if it didn't have one. Saying that my dads new car has one and he said now he's go it he wouldn't want another car that didn't have it.

Well done! Like others have said, if I have to downgrade to another RRS, Black Edition would be the only option for me. Great engine, gearbox and spec at a very good price. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Sounds great - enjoy Mr. Green

I used to think heated steering wheel was for wimps and people with more money than sense but now I've got one I realise what I've been missing Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Just a week of waiting then I can pick it up and enjoy it once I get it cleaned and polished to my standard as I'm sure dealers aren't as fussy as me when it comes shiney.
Then it will be time to learn how everything works.

Excited already, it going to be a long week Lol.
