BE which came out in 2013 was the run out model and had extras over, say, 2012 plain HSE but it was still missing quite a few features that AB had. For example BE had timed (but not remote) climate as standard but not the heated steering wheel. It had extended leather but not two-tone seats. BE didn't have adaptive cruise either. The standard audio system may also have been superior in AB (although BE had a decent system as well). BE did have TV tuner and hybrid/dual view screen as standard though.

BE was the nicest LR I ever owned and IMHO pretty good value compared to it's replacement If I was in the market for a RRS - an approved used BE would be tempting Fkarim sums it up pretty much regarding the differences Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW Still hoping for a S2 one day! |

Black edition owner here and very good value for money I would say, sunroof never bothered me neither did rear screens as the kids are all about iPads these days so would of been wasted anyway. I retro-fitted remote park heat and heated steering wheel myself but it wasn't a deal breaker for me as the rest of the car was very clean and honest.

I have looked at a Causeway Grey with ivory leather Black Edition today 06/13 registered which has a heated steering wheel at a LR main dealer and apart from the lack of HST body styling which I would have got with a Autobiography the car had everything I could of wanted so took it for a test drive and it was like driving a brand new car so I bought it and pick it up next weekend

Whatever you paid for it, it's got to be worth it if the car has a heated steering wheel!!! The MUST HAVE accessory, couldn't live without it now!!!

Never had a heated steering wheel so wouldn't of missed it if it didn't have one. Saying that my dads new car has one and he said now he's go it he wouldn't want another car that didn't have it. |

Well done! Like others have said, if I have to downgrade to another RRS, Black Edition would be the only option for me. Great engine, gearbox and spec at a very good price. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Just a week of waiting then I can pick it up and enjoy it once I get it cleaned and polished to my standard as I'm sure dealers aren't as fussy as me when it comes shiney.
