Faint beep/beeping

I got home late last night and while I was waiting for the dog to come in I noticed something like a strange faint beeping. When I investigated it was coming from the RR, sounded like it was under or around the wheel arches. Anyone else had this? Perhaps something is sticking at "on" and ran the battery down?
