A ticking when turning is most likely a CV joint, to be honest.

One other thought - what size wheels and tyres are fitted? One wonders if it might just be something rubbing when on/near full lock. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Many thanks RRSTDV8, I am not a mechanic so I have to rely on others to do my work for me and of course this cost "lots-a-lolly" so the grand was parts labour for wheel bearing and drive shaft, if I'd have gone to my local Range Rover dealer he was quoting over £1600 plus vat! So it was quite cheap. I was informed that it is not CV joint as both sides were tested. As for the wheels they are genuine Ranger Rover wheels with Michelin tyres... I could drive it up to Northamptoshire and see a decent bloke up there and see if he knows how to find my issue!

I see you're in Surrey. If you ever travel eastwards into Sussex, then I would recommend that you consider popping in to see the guys who sorted out my issues. Groombridges in Heathfield are LR only repair garage who have been going for many years and have an in depth knowledge of these cars. Of course there's no guarantee that they can solve your issue, but if its not out of your way it would be worth a visit. Robin

Well changing the driveshaft (half shaft) is one way of checking the CV joint isn't the issue I suppose. The CV joint is part of the shaft assembly... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

Good. Might be worth giving them a ring first although I didn't when I first went there. I just turned up and they went straight out with me on a test drive and diagnosed my problem within 5 minutes.
