You may be due for it but unless you go in and ask the dealer specifically if your car is supposed to have it then it will be done at the first service. Mine was updated because I had the car in for a replacement heated fronted screen (the heating failed on the passenger side) and the reception advised me that the update was applicable to my car and they would do it there and then while doing the fault finding for the screen fault, it took 2 minutes to find the screen fault, 30 minutes for the update to be uploaded and 30 minutes to valet the car while I waited! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Have a look on ToPIX, it'll soon tell you if the update applies to your vehicle.

So what was it in the finish? Didn't you need to have the screen replaced after all?

Element had failed so it was a new screen. Local dealership advised it could be a couple of weeks to get the new screen and then the next morning phoned me to say the new screen had arrived overnight, could they have the car in please. So IIRC 1st week of December the new screen was fitted beautifully - no paint damage, no interior damage only thing is that it does take a bit longer to defrost the screen than before, it gets there but it isn't quite so instantaneous as it was before, rear screen is cleared long before the front one now. As it was also a warranty repair I got an OEM screen not an AutoGlass Pilkington or other brand. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Glad you got it fixed to your satisfaction. I wouldn't have given any thought to my screen being OEM before - it's a very good point that I'll bear in mind in future. (I had one replaced a few years ago and never even knew if it was OEM, but it was Autoglass, so almost certainly wasn't!)

If it has the Range Rover logo (NOT Land Rover) etched in the bottom LH corner it's OEM, anything else is 3rd Party 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It wasn't a Land Rover at the time, but I've no doubt the relevant logos were not there on the replacement. I'll know what to look out for in future, and, more importantly, what to insist on (if I can).

I have to say this site is amazing (and addictive!). Not only is it incredibly busy, it's a fount of useful knowledge and clearly patronised by a number of experts, so I learn something new every day. I hope I don't have any problems with my new car, but, if I do, I'll know where to come in the first instance - and it won't be my dealers! (not until I'm 'armed' with the correct information, at any rate).

I had 42 miles showing on the trip computer and the fill up message was on the dash so I filled up with just under 78 litres.

Seems to make 86 litres seem correct. Altough using Shell Nitro diesel at over £1.33, the £103 bill was a shock! MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

Thanks Dave

Really helpful. I suspect that my car has an issue with the filler cap / nozzle etc in that it actually won't take a full tank. It's the only logical explanation.

Weirdly I just want to be able to put in £100+ of fuel !! So I can go further !

I actually think it is the first time I have ever spent more than £100 on a fill up. Not a good milestone!

I should add that it has not been in for the fuel tank noise mod as seems ok. (MY16) MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.
