I would go Petrol 5.0 supercharged but then it took me two SDV6 cars to realise my error.

Have a look at the specs on the LR website - hardly anything between the V6 and V8 so personally IMHO I don't see the point of the V8!

The TDV8 is old school, the SDV6 is awesome, my fave JLR engine aside the the petrol 5.0 AJV8. Interesting the comment above about the V6 being a slouch, not at all, suits the car. Other opinions are that the TDV8 is such a heavy lump, it affects handling and nimbleness....

My 2015MY SDv6 HSE-Dynamic went into the dealership for a new windscreen in November and at the same time the service guys carried out a software upgrade to an ECU and when the car was handed back it was a different beast - it wasn't a slouch before hand but just occassionally it would hesitate on pulling away, just briefly, now it pulls away beautifully every time, leaps away when you want to overtake and you can do it D rather than shifting to S. Downside............... increased fun = increased fuel consumption, not drastic but mpg has dropped a little since. The difference is what I imaging remapping feels like. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes Phimlw, you are correct I don't have an SVR and neither do I see the reason for not the value in an SVR.

Good decision. Don't forget that the VED for the V8 will be double that of the V6 this year! Not a huge financial decision but it does count for something.
