RRS Knocking front suspension/loose rearend

Hello good people og this gigantic forum!

First time poster her, been lurking about when looking for information previously, and a daily user of Norwegian forums covering all Land Rovers.

I have issues with my RRS '07 HSE 2.7. It seems my problems are common, i'll get back to the issues, but first! the car!

Mine is a Black 07 RRS, tinted windows and black leather, nice for the kids(could be mistaken for badgers when looking at how clean it is back there) in the back. I have had the car for a year and a half now and I love it! I bought it from a programer who used it for long drives to and from work, the first owner used it much the same as the second, and I do as well.
It does about 150km a day or roughly 100 miles a day last time i looked(yesterday it had passed 295000KM strong as ever. Before this I had a P38, and alot of other german vehicles (they lost the war, what do they know about anything...).
First thing I did was the BAS remap and remote controller for the FBH, and I also closed the EGR valves with a software patch(I have yet to install the blockingplates) Second was the 240kkm Service II with all filters and fluids including gearbox flush(filled for life.... yeah right...)
I have tested my RRS offroad, I am an Army Sergeant and I instruct soldiers in the use of our Merc G-wagon among other things (I also used to have a G350 as a daily driver) and my RRS, on street tires, out performed the G in every way Laughing hillstarting in sandy hills where the GD240 wont climb going in with speed. Terrain respons and the autobox rocks! Bow down

Asside from the issues I soon will mention one of the intercooler hoses blew and created a black trail of smoke while hauling some lumber. Quick fix, no issues.

I am beeing anoyed by the "KNOCKING" front suspension.
I started by changing the LCA's no change, i proceded to change the UCA and struts units. no change.
I also changed the Links freom the LCAs to the ARB, no change.
All that remains to change is the ARB Bushes and the ARB itself(hydraulic) I have the bushes.

As I understand it the bushes are a common fault, and the ARB itself can move sidways is this correct? I hope the bushes will fix this. any thoughts?
Knocking can be heard coing over uneven surfaces and while turning sharply from side to side.

Also!
While driving at normal speeds 70 and above and turning, the rear end seems to turn out while the front is turning in. I suspected bushes again, and bought all the bushes for the rear end. after reading a little on this site tonight i wonder if i shouldn't just buy new rear struts and do those instead(shot shocks?) there is no knocking to the rear of the car, just a slightly floppyfishtail behaviour.

This extensive forum has probably covered this multiple times as is normal to all forums I participate in, some might find the reapearing topic anoying, I ask anyway, in the hopes of confirmation of my suspicions and fears.

so Gents! what are your thoughts!?

Finally, it is time for a new service, I have the service kit, I use only GULF oil to spec, mainly because my neighbour is a GULF dealer. It is also coming up on a timingbeltservice, wich will include pulleys and tensioners and the oilpump cover(weak spot?) I do everything myself, provided I have the time

Oh, all parts for this car I order from Famousfour, if that is relevant.

Yours is an HSE, do you know if it has what was an option on 2.7 HSE's - Dynamic Response - which is electro-hydraulic rear anti-roll bars. It could be that the fluid needs either topping up or changing. You can tell if the car has DR fitted by the additional filler cap at the front of the engine bay. Another thing to check are that the ride height sensors are all working - go into the 4x4 screen of the central screen and there are icons of white bars above each wheel icon, if any are red then there is a connectivity or sensor issue. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hello Tim!

Yes, it has th Dynamic response pack and also the Brembo big break upgrade.

Silly question, is there a quick and easy way to fill this fluid? I havent thought to look. Could it be just as well to drain it completly and change all of it?

Kind Regards

The refill is dead easy! It has it's own filler at the front of the engine bay! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I have a '57 RRS that sounds like the same model as yours.
I had squeaking at the front after 20-30 mins of driving which annoyed the hell out of me!

I have also had the knocking up front as well. I have since had a service on the Range and had the front anti roll bushes changed ( I assume the ones that you are mentioning to ) since the service and replacement of the bushes ( and parting of an amount of money Id rather not have ) the squeaking has stopped and I cannot recall knocking....I will listen again and let you know!

Turns out the airdryer was clogged up by deterierated dryer beads. Completly plugged. I suspect there is debree throughout the system causing intermittent faults. Fixing the dryer fixed the fault.

Bushings are next
