Range rover sport 2.7 tdv6 not starting

Hi new to Forum but have looked here before for info, bit stumped with a fault that happened today so thought I would ask the experts!. I have a range rover sport 2.7 tdv6 today I stopped at local shop after short drive unlocked car jumped in turned key as normal but this time would not start for love nor money! Was winding over but not firing. Sat there churning it over for ages but nothing!! Battery is probably few years old was winding over fine, left it for few minutes stressing like mad tried it again and started like nothing had happened /Smile only do local runs in it but it's gotta start when I turn the key as I'm I retained firefighter. Any help would be ace.no engine fault codes thanks David

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

David, welcome to the forum.
RRS of all ages throw up one off "issues" that go away at the next start up, even the latest cars can do it - mine recently advised that it had lost communication with the electronic dipstick while I was driving along. Even when the car is stopped the electronic dipstick needs to have had 10 minutes stopped with a warmed through engine. So I thought, it's nearly midnight, I'll leave it on the drive overnight and call Land Rover Assist in the morning.......... Next morning when out and started the car and left it idling for about 5 minutes expecting to come back to a car with a big yellow triangle and a warning on the dash...... a week later it has never re-appeared even after some very hard driving. So, for yours I would keep an eye on it, often these things are all to do with canbus communications with all the ECU's. Always best if possible to stop, switch off and leave for 5-10 minutes and then try a restart, if the car fails to restart in your case leave it to go into sleep mode before trying a restart - put the suspension to access height lock it and have a coffee and then try again. You may have a battery a bit below par or an alternator on it way out though. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

It could of been the immobiliser throwing a wobbler if it happens again take the key out and work the lock/unlock then try to restart. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

So if immobiliser was active it would still turn over? Will try spare key for while also. Thanks for your reply.
