SDV8 Remap and Decat

Hi guys, I'm after a bit more power from the SDV8 4.4 and am considering either remapping or trading in for a SCV8. The big downside of the SCV8 for me however is the reduced fuel range (I'm a lazy man and don't want to be filling up twice as much as is currently the case with the diesel) and also the cost of upgrading. So, I'm considering remapping and decatting my 4.4 SDV8 L494. However I'd like some feedback from anyone who has already done this.

What gains did you receive from the remap? Was it a very noticeable increase in power that justified the risk/hassle of the remap?

Re the Decat, was there any downsides (ie error lights etc) and did you also remove the physical pipes or was it done via software only?

I'm in Perth WA and there's a few people who claim to be able to do this to our vehicle now, so if you have any local information as well that would be much appreciated.

Any other relevant information is welcome!

Regards
Ben

I had my previous FFRR TDV8 remapped by DMS http://www.dmsautomotive.com/ as I have done to many previous cars including my current RRS. As usual the DMS remap resulted in a significant upgrade in power and torque leading to improved driveability and improved fuel consumption. Its a no brainer as far as I'm concerned

Thanks Mike!

Was this done via the OBD port or did they need to open the ECU? --

KraftWerk seem to be reputable business in Australia. Their website says they have a workshop in WA. Go to www.kraftwerk.com.au/ 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV8 HSE Dynamic (Indus Silver/Santorini Black Pano Roof, Ebony/Cirrus leather, custom grey Style 508 alloys)

There are quite a few upgrades offered some are modules which I would stay well clear of. Most remaps are through the OBD port although many years ago when doing an A6 it required removal of the ECU and a new chip inserted. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
