For me the whole thing has become a Political gathering, without any backing and support for those they are there to celebrate and remember. The way many troops sore inside or homeless on the street, while immigrants arrive and are looked after really infuriates me, we just do not look after the members of our services who many find difficult to settle back into normal life. The mental health problems they suffer from are not treated properly or regognised.
Until the Government start to look after both in service and retired from, they shouldn't even be at the Cenotaph today, it disgusts me.
Remembrance Day should be given back to the people.
Yes I do come from a family where we have lost members and currently have one brother who now suffers daily, not just with his disablement, but with mental health problems brought on by recent conflicts in the last 20+ years of service. Does he receive help? No, we look after him as family as he cannot get a council or otherwise property, or receive the care he should be getting. He is not ALONE. John
