8 - It significantly reduces the pleasure of driving an otherwise good vehicle.

5- Fortunately we have very good road surfaces around here, but drivem me mad when I visit the office in west Yorkshire.

Note that mine only does this noise in a straight line, not when steeringis turned, and we have an awful ot of bends on the Lake District roads.

9 - hate the knock, love the car..

Over the last 8 months "water-knock" has successfully affected:
1. my blood pressure,
2. my marriage (wife keeps telling me to drop my quest for fair treatment from LR, causes substantial disagreement),
3. my time-keeping record at work (countless days out to take the car to the dealers for nothing to get done, boss fed up with it),
4. my general state of mental well-being (I have started going slightly mad).

Doc - thankyou. You're doing a grand job, I'm feeling better already.

Does this lack of response mean no one else has experienced a problem and therefore those above are isolated instances of something other than the Dynamic Response noise?

Doc

I am convinced your suspension drop has damaged the suspension somewhere and your dealer, on the back of how LR are instructing their dealers to treat complaints of "the suspension is producing knocking noises", has not bothered to look for the real source of your problem. It would be nice for you and the rest of us (and I've still got a 6 month wait for mine) for you to report back next week that Hillendale have remedied the problem.

Lack of resopnse might be because some of us havnt had time to read the threads because we are working. I am not sure what my knocking noise is but i would rate it as 4-6 (which is the same category as my wife) some of my Previous cars

Agreed - this posting from LR seems to have given certain LR dealers an excuse to not repair any front end noises Sad

5 - but mine hasn't got dynamic response. Is the watery thingy that VOR talks about a Dynamic Response feature, or one fited to all RRS's.

By the way, our D3 makes a similar noise at times but probably only rate that at 2 on The Doc's scale.

Did you know that Landrover spelt in Emoticons looks like :

Very Happy Razz Confused Rolling Eyes Razz Twisted Evil Cool Cool Shocked Razz RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini
Disco 4 TDv6 HSE Ipanema
Defender 90, 200tdi CSW

The ARC knock described in VOR's post is only associated with vehicles fitted with dynamic response.

Unfortunately, the route cause of your annoying little knock lies elsewhere Smarticus. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.
