These seem to be a weak link in design. I have just replaced my second lock on a 2005, I hope you don't have the same issue I had and the new lock failed after 2 weeks with the lock jammed shut faced with lock destruction to gain entry .

Personally I would stay well away from refurb. If your skills are right and you know what your doing that's great so go for it. What happened to me the other week after fitting a new lock is the lock failed after 2 weeks Jammed the door lock on, you cannot open the door from inside or out. You are then faced with lock destruction and brute force to destroy the mechanism to gain access. So for me personally to balance the risk of getting it wrong and a new lock is no brainer. |
