Poor pedal clearance RRS auto.

Hi. I am a new member and am pleased to have joined the group. My query is that after owning my RRS 2007 auto diesel for a year I still have difficulty with the pedal clearance. I often catch both accelerator and brake pedal at the same time and occassionally catch my foot on the edge of the kick plate. Are there any solutions to this.

Take your 20 size boots off and drive with normal sized shoes - not an issue for most of us Laughing 07MY RRS TDV6

Well I am surprised that no one else finds the pedal clearance issue annoying. Thinking of an alloy set and will move the brake pedal over slightly when I drill them in place. Either that or stop wearing my size 20's!!!!

I don't think its that folk don't think this annoying, I just believe it NOT to be an issue for the vast majority of owners. If this is all you have to worry about just now, I would say you are doing OK for now!

I did suffer from this occasionally, so I know where you are coming from, but mine was not just large feet, size 14 xtra wide on right foot, and size 11 on left foot, all the result after an accident. With care I got around this, but I was always annoyed when it happened again.

My solution, but may not be really suitable for non disabled drivers, was to have the accelerator fitted on a swivel locking bracket, meaning I had the accelerator on the left side of brake pedal, for any one else driving, they would just flip it back to normal right side position. It took a while to get use to left foot braking, (had a free two day course) but I now have no problems at all and am fully prepared for when right leg gets amputated, (when next time badly infected). Big Cry
You can get this done at many dealerships, any motability dealers or some disability centres, it really did clear up my problem and I never hit either pedal together anymore. Very Happy

It might be a bit drastic for your good self, but PM me if you need address of place near your location.
I know of several disabled drivers that have this alteration done, and keeps them mobile. Thumbs Up John

Hi John. Thanks for the information. Sorry to read about your difficulties but great to see how you have found a solution and that you are out there enjoying your car.
