TDV8 front flexible hose problem

How ungrateful! Despite me spending a large bit of wedge fixing her transmission glitch she failed an MOT at the weekend.

Offside front brake flexible hose is pretty badly corroded on the crimped part (ferrule?) at the caliper end.

Something to look at if you have a similarly aged TDV8 perhaps.

I've ordered replacements for both sides and if time and weather permits will give changing them a go since I have all the necessary tools. Experience tells me this sort of job can go horribly wrong if anything is badly seized so will be taking great care.

On the up side changing engine oil and filter went well so that's done for the winter Thumbs Up 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Mine not quite that bad - it is just the caliper end that corroded:

Bought both front hoses but just fitted the O/S to pass the free MOT re-test this morning. Thumbs Up

Can fit the other side at my leisure. Having one new and one old hose doesn't appear to have upset the balance of the braking in any way. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE
