And devalue your car When I had problems with my car I spoke to the people in charge - not LRCS in a sensible and reasoned manner, it worked. Slagging the car off in a newspaper advert isn't likley to bring the best out of them. He reads here too. |

Pelma you say buy a decent set of wheels for offroad, but the stormer alloys are supplied By L/R for the RRS and therefore should be fit for the purpose and that includes offroading otherwise there should be a warning with them explaning about how easy it is to damage them, either that or dont advertise the RRS is excellent off road or dont sell the wheels. some of my Previous cars -------------------------------- P38 Range Rover Autobiography RRS 2.7 HSE Silver RRS TDV8 HSE silver FFRR Vogue black Disco3 HSE silver RRS 2.7 HSE silver RRS 3.0 HSE BALTI BLUE ______________________________ current vehicles RRS 3.0 L494 Autobiography Audi R8 V10 Spyder AC Cobra Landrover Defender 90 Landrover Defender 110 Suzuki Jimney |

I think it is difficult to define what is a harsh off environment. I seem to recall NeilR went round Tixover and did no damage to his Stormers, yet you can drive somewhere like where I live and easily mark your alloys with flints in the mud even if you were driving 17" wheels. You can just as easily slide into a tree or a ditch, does this mean LRs are not suitable for offroad driving? No it means driving offroad is a harsh place for a car, if you don't want to run the risk of damaging your car don't do it, at best get a second set of wheels that you're not worried about marking. I don't think we need to go down the McDonalds coffee cup route do we? |

Who wants to take a £60k car " off road " - not me - maybe the odd field & beach...................... maybe . As good as the RRS is- if money was no object - great. But I would choose a 2nd hand or even 11th hand purpose built vehicle

Rather than club together to spend £50k on an advert slagging off Land Rover, I suggest we club together to buy RRUK's car off him and put him out of his misery.... RRS TDv8 HSE Rimini

i have several issuses with mine but i still think its a great car and would buy another one tommorow , if you could get a V8, im now going to order a 2008 model next year, i live out in the sticks and have a 1/4 mile very rough driveway at home, it really annoys me that i have two damaged 20 inch stormers from normal and moderate driving.

The problem with the RRS is that it is almost too good looking and urbane (which is why they are selling so well). There is nothing remotely agricultural or utilitarian about them, making it all the more painful when its appearance is slightly diminished. You wouldn't think twice about scuffing a Defender or a Disco but the RRS is on another, slightly more precious level.
