2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Sad to see a VW Bentley at the bottom of the list and so many Mercedes models as well - both brands once reckoned to be the shining lights of reliability............... It also makes me wonder what age of cars they are looking at - in my pounding of the motorways it used to be regular to see a Land Rover product sat on a hard shoulder with the bonnet open but not these days, I have seen many more BMW's Audi and Porsches stranded than Land Rovers. Also interesting that Rover cars are so high up the most reliable chart, they used to languish a long way down the reliability rankings and for sure they haven't been building them any better in the last 10 years. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

According to link it's vehicles 3-8 years old

Merc have been getting poor results for some years now according to which in particular - VW have also been scoring lower than Skoda even though same company

I've always defended LR on reliability on my experience but in recent years they have lost the plot imho - success and increased production has reduced the quality as far as I'm concerned Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Not surprising to see big and expensive brands doing badly there. These are vehicles that are, by definition, out of manufacturer's warranty and have a few years / miles on them. They're probably on their second, third or even fourth owner and, with the purchase prices dropping with age, are possibly with owners who can't afford to do all of the work required when required.

Bentley Continental GT is a lot of car for the money these days and quite appealing as early ones are now in the £25-30k range. Buy one of those without a wedge of spare cash to keep it running and you'll have problems down the line. The same sort of thing happens with RRSs on this forum - we see people wanting to buy them cheap and then try to spend as little as possible on keeping them running.

I bet, also, that many of the cars that do badly are ones that have been company cars - ragged mercilessly for the first 3 years with the minimum required annual service carried out. Owner 2 or 3 then deals with the fall out.

Then there is the quality of service given by the main dealers. We all know how rubbish LR main dealers are, by and large. I've had first hand experience of damage caused by careless LR main dealers (as has muddywheels). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
