United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Some expensive off roading

Hi guys, went to wales rally gb yesterday, went to a good little spot I know to try the rrs off road. Have to say I was very impressed. The annoying thing was when I rejoined the road I thought this is pulling oh s##t. So pulled over and there it was one of my 20" tyres flat as f##k. Changed it and checked the tyre and its a side wall split from a bit of rock I would think. The bloody thing has only done 1900 miles!! what am I looking at £200 ish Mad serves you right said the mrs!! women hey! 2007 TDV6HSE, Java black, 20" 10 spokes, super charger grill and vents, Sunroof, tv, fridge, brembo's plus all the other 2007 bits, Limo Priv glass, turbchipped

Hate to tell you but the 20's are just not up to any off road driving, not even mounting the kerb in the supermarket carpark! Check out RRUK's posts regarding his 20's.

Good advice Tim. A mate of mine has a tyre depot. His is going to remove the tyre from the rim in the morning and spin it up on the ballencing device to check its straight etc. It looks ok but best to check

Even the 19" M&S tyres are a bit low profile for offroading. Do you have a 2nd set of tyres/wheels for playing VA? The Goodyear MTRs for the RRS have much stronger sidewalls and they are available in 18 and 19" (if you can get hold of them....... I'm still waiting since ordering mine in March!) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Tim - I have some MTR's on 19s! Just changed them today for the normal road wheels/tyres - must say the car drives very differently. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I still have the original 19's that came with the car before i replaced them with 20's. I'm thinking about getting some decent off road tyres fitted to them for play time!! I didn't give it anywhere near its full potential yesterday. The route I took I had done before in a freelander. Just a bit of bad luck i supose!! I do worry about the curbs guys!!! 2007 TDV6HSE, Java black, 20" 10 spokes, super charger grill and vents, Sunroof, tv, fridge, brembo's plus all the other 2007 bits, Limo Priv glass, turbchipped

Jim the 19 MTRs are very good, they used them on the G4 challenge. The only bad news is that I think that none are available for a while. ALL SOLD OUT 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

One other thing. MTRs on the rrs 19s are fine but imho the wheel is slightly too wide and the MTRs do not protect the alloy well. If you could get a set of D3 19s I would do that - I also think the MTRs look better on the D3 19s as they bulge a little! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

ENVOY - I hope you claim the money back from the local council! Photographic evidence is needed. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If you want to see the consiquences of damaging a 20" tyre! Without warning it let go, and I was doing a fairly respectable speed on the M1! (SEE GALLERY FOR PIC)

I have never ever been so scared in my life. It was like riding a bucking bronco. You can see that the tyre was ripped from the wall which must have been damaged.

I am now totally paranoid and stop at least once a week on the way home from work because it just doesn't feel right. Had the tyre checked out by an independant specialist who said it was due to damage as opposed to poor manufacturing.

I'll get over it, but I now don't use the 'Charger' to its full potential!!

SEE MY GALLERY AS I STILL DON@T KNOW HOW TO GET PHOTOS INTO THE THREAD! Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed [/img] TDV8 HSE in Java/Ebony with Zebrano Wood, RSE, Hybrid TV, and a few other bells and whistles.

As soon as it happened i took photos and got straight onto the council, they passed the buck onto the water authority,so i spoke to them and then they sent some one out straight away to view the manhole cover, i then sent them the photos. I have now had a reply saying that because the man hole was in the grass verge it wasnt there fault and also said i had contributed to the errosion of the verge causing the cover to become expossed. This was on a tiny country lane and i had to reverse for a bus and you have to move right over. They sad it was pointless persuing it any further without taking legal advice. It just aint worth my time. Evil or Very Mad some of my Previous cars
