Well for what its worth, see my post, HARD SELL, the business manager suggested that at the end of my 2 years LR warranty I could take out an extended warranty for 1350. I'll look at that in 2019 Laughing

I've renewed with Land Rover. Extended Warranty with LR Assist for 136 a month for 10 months. I had my mind changed after chatting to someone at the LR Service Centre I use.....where the car is currently sat following a front diff seal leak.... Visitor from fullfatrr.com

A wise choice I would have said Rob, I renewed mine with L/R too after weighing up the options with warranty direct, including getting hire cars if there was a major issue.

Least L/R provide a car should the worst happen and you get priority via the dealer network even if the main stealers are busy Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Wales 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Hi

I am normally happy to take the risk of not having a warranty but not so on the Sport. Having said that over the 6 years of ownership I have probably lost out. I had the suspension bushes replaced under the first 3 years of warranty and apart from that an alternator under the LR extended warranty.

This year however the extended warranty has paid for itself, brake switch and EGR's and now rear calliper. The issue isn't only the cost of repair for me but the time it takes. Best part of 6 weeks for the EGR and now 2 weeks for the Calliper and no sign of it being done yet (communication is not a strong point where my dealer is concerned). I do however have a Jaguar XF as a loan car and for me, given the time it takes to get repairs completed, that is an important consideration. I have not had any arguments over cover.

Dealer apart, I have to say that the LR extended warranty people were excellent; all completed on a Sunday afternoon, plenty of communication, dealt with the recovery and arranged the Jaguar.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I've just renewed my LR warranty again.
After the problems I've had with the brakes recently the warranty purchase cost has been just about covered all the repair costs. It could be argued that I could have taken it to an independent for the work and paid cash for less than the warranty purchase cost, but I now have another 12 months of worry free motoring all covered by a genuine warranty.

And as I pay monthly on direct debit I can cancel it at any time if I sell the car and not lose too much money. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey

I've just renewed with LR direct after seeking advice from people in the trade I did consider the warranty direct option but like a previous poster said at 136 a month for ten months with the ability to cancel if I sell the car was the big winner for me. Current RRS MY2012 HSE Lux 3.0 SDV6 Orkney Grey
