My own D4 of 4 years ago was fine, a few minor niggles but nothing like the issues seen on the last RRS. I then purchased the Black edition of the old model RRS (2013) and that was a good car, but the new model RRS to me has been a disaster. The latest D4 given to me to use while the RRS was repaired was not good, I could directly compare it with my previous own D4, as nothing much had changed, except it appears the way it had been assembled together.. the wheels had gone a size smaller, which to me degraded the D4 ride.

I have noticed a change to my issues and problems mfrom my once excellent dealer, they struggle to get results from JLR and appear to be completely controlled by them. Terrible JLR customer service.

The real problem IMO is an ownership issue, insomuch as JLR being controlled by an Indian corporation |

The real problem is that they can't build them quickly enough. When everything you send out of the door is snapped up, why worry about the details? The guys on the line aren't able, I'm sure, to spend more than the minimum time on each item going in the vehicle. The outsourced components need to be controlled better too - obviously assigned on a minimum cost basis which again leads to issues for the customer.

A better why to get things right is not to have too many options. This car should have most of the options as standard and the build to spec should only be about colors and electronics. This is how the Better Industry players do things. Scale and efficiency is about repetition at the moment the Indians can't seem to grasp this. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |

But a lot of the issues are in the standard kit areas - saggy leather on the seats, creaking seats, poorly painted brake calipers, the list goes on.

Assuming I buy another one, it will be second hand again. Not going to pay new car prices for second hand car quality... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Trouble is in Australia there are many true 4WD's that are available. Many have the things RRS should have as standard at 30% of the cost. New Holden Dual cab ute has lane departure, TPMS, Adaptive Cruise , True in car media that connects with apple or Android , GPS Navigation , heated seats and so on. Same deal for the Ford , Jeep ,Mercedes Nissan , Land Cruisers. The purchase of a RR should mean getting what these other have standard and a higher better quality build and leading technology. IMO this is where RR misses big time. I purchased for the differences, V8 diesel , 4WD and in car comfort , but still am disappointed about the missing stuff that should be standard and is left out due to price gouging.
