I have a QQ, I have recently seen a post and a YouTube video explaining that the autobiography diesel model exhaust tips face down behind the tip rather than the fumes going through the tip itself.

Was this the case for the 2012 autobiography sdv6 as well? If so mine has the wrong exhaust tips.

Unfortunately I'm 5000 mile away from the RRS to physically confirm, but going from the black exhaust looking residue on the tips then I think it comes out the exhaust tips as normal/expected.

I've attached a dealer pic when I was buying, and if you zoom in then you will see black on the tips indicating where it comes out.

I recently got some HAWKE tips for my 2010 3.0 V6 HSE and the original exhaust tips on mine do point down but the tips fitted are straight, like you say the fumes go down before the end of the new tip.

When I was researching this I did come across different tips which were a straight fit with no pointing down and they did seem to be for the later models.

I believe they did a small revision on the RRS in 2012 so it sounds like yours is correct to me.

Out of interest is your tailgate one piece or does it split?
