Looking at one this weekend

57 tdv8 81300 miles, what should I look out for?

Not up on what extras were optional?

The bottom of the doors are black plastic and it has rear seat entertainment

Sorry I can't help with the details of that particular model but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon - I will say check for fsh and make sure you get a good warranty or keep plenty of money aside for repairs though Thumbs Up

In addition to the usual I'd make sure the windscreen has been replaced and brake pipes fixed properly.

My own alarm would trigger at a car chronically running low on coolant too.

And for a random bonus it's prime time for a new alternator which is £££ on the TDV8

Cheers

EDIT: My now departed (last week - still not over it) TDV8 from March 2009 only had rear seat entertainment and gangster glass listed as the available options.

£100 less than WBAC which I was very happy with and a whisker off CAP
There are a number for sale privately for more but they dont seem to be actually selling

The car had been faultless but cost me over 1k last summer for service/alternator/battery and the same this summer for service/handbrake/ride height sensor which was the final straw after being stranded and recovered 300 miles away from home

I never planned to keep it this long but until last year absolutely nothing had gone wrong on it
Its bloody lovely and has all the toys you will ever need and some you didnt even know existed

Electric seats and steering wheel, bendy lights, air suspension, radar guided cruise control and F+R heated seats are all great but do you know the TDV8 has a fridge as standard?? I'll miss that bloody fridge, its brilliant

Being realistic it will need the brake pipes doing soon and the air suspension and ARB's are also a cause for concern plus new discs as well as pads are also on the horizon

The car you mentioned is easy to find online and I would be worried that its MOT history shows advisories for low coolant levels for the last few tests - doesnt that worry you? And a dodgy windscreen last time too.

When you go and see the car the main inevitabilities on a car that age will be alternator and brake pipe corrosion so make sure both have been addressed, for the rest get a warranty (which I never did but then I was lucky).
This assumes its tyres have plenty of wear (almost 200 quid a corner for Pirellis) and the pads and discs are OK too.

But mainly make sure you have a good indie nearby
If I was reliant on main dealer labour prices or a local garage who knew nothing about the RR Sport mine would have been binned off years ago

Good luck - its easily the best car Ive ever had.
